From time to time, I will write about life, art, and the things that spark my imagination. And, just in case you were wondering, I’m completely drawn to time-worn elements, theater, dance, music, flowers, and books.
It was so much fun pulling together a color palette for my Holiday gifts, repurposing ribbons, gathering greenery from my yard, and adding a small painting to the packages for a special touch.
I shared everything in last week's Facebook Live and saved an edited version to Youtube.
A free excerpt from one of my favorite classes, Conversations, while the main focus of the class is abstract and collage, I wanted to create a "smudgy" portrait for one of the layered collage lessons.
I love to draw quick, smudgy faces in my sketchbook and then repurpose them in my artwork. All you need for this lesson is your sketchbook or any paper you have on hand, charcoal or graphite pencils, a small piece of soft charcoal, and a kneaded eraser.
Giveaway!
This week's giveaway gift is a Falling Flowers pencil case, charcoal pencil, Stabilo pencil, kneaded eraser, and a few sheets of vintage papers from my studio.
Leave a comment below, and your name will go into the drawing and be announced in next week's newsletter.
