The Art Of Gifting
/I believe there truly is an art to gift-giving. Taking the time to think about the perfect gift, wrap with care, add embellishments, and a handwritten note that will bring so much joy. Putting love into the entire process will take away the hurried stress of the season.
Give yourself time and space as you share your creativity with those you love and enjoy the art of gifting. Below is a selection of extraordinary gift ideas for those art lovers in your life.
I've also included a link to my gift wrap ideas on Youtube to spark your creativity.
La Maison du Pastel
La Maison Du Pastel | 300 years of history
The Story of “La Maison du Pastel” starts at the beginning of the 18th century, a time when working with pastels was very much in fashion. Artists such as Quentin de la Tour, Chardin, and Rosalba Carriera contributed to its notoriety, and the pastels produced in Paris were renown throughout Europe.
These handmade pastels are true works of art and bring glorious color to everything they touch. Manufactured in small quantities, Roché pastels are individually hand-rolled into a form suitable for both bold and detailed work. With exceptionally lightfast pigments and a minimum of binder, the pastels possess a particular texture that allows them to adhere well to a number of supports, as well as display a remarkable intensity and clarity of color. They are my number one choice in pastels.

Peg & Awl
Peg & Awl
Gather their materials from flea markets and old shoppes, abandoned houses and torn-down buildings, construction sites, yard sales, and dirty basements. Most of what they use—leather from baseball gloves and drawing-room chairs, and WWII gun slings, pages from outdated medical texts and antique seed catalogs, misplaced photographs of people long dead, fabric from bedding, aprons, window covering—is more than a century old. Every item bears marks of a not-fully-known and not-quite-finished past.
I have many sketchbooks and journals, but the ones I find are my favorites are made by Peg & Awl. I love how they feel in my hand, how the leather begins to soften with time, and how it welcomes so many different types of materials without losing its beautiful form. Every product they make is a work of art.
