I’m thrilled to teach in this incredible location in southern France. We will have an amazing experience making art, exploring, and making beautiful memories together.
Transform your artistic approach to reflect how you see beauty in the world around you. During your stay, you will have time to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of France by stepping outside the studio to collect visual imagery as a “way in” to your art.
With your camera and sketchbook, take inspiration from the stunning landscape, medieval villages, lavender fields, and dramatic cliffs. Observe how light and shadow become beautiful dance partners with nature and can inspire beauty and drama in your art.
Back in the studio, you will tap into your sense of beauty and creativity as you examine the places and experiences that mark your heart and find a new way to capture them through painting, sketching, collage, and stitching.
You don’t have to worry about anything; focus on enjoying your experience and creating beautiful artwork & incredible memories.

Escape to a weekend of inspiration and creativity with Andrea Garvey and Renee Mueller. The breathtaking landscapes of Santa Cruz, California, will refresh and inspire you.
Andrea’s home is on a coastal bluff with a 360-degree view of the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Cruz Mountains. We will create art indoors and outdoors in the flower gardens, gorgeous beach, and serene forest.
Embrace the wonder of nature and enjoy walking along the water's edge of the gorgeous Pacific Ocean. Enjoy a beautiful and memorable morning hike amid the towering redwoods in Nisene Forest, with time to sketch and draw inspiration from their majestic presence.
We will spend two full days together making art, having conversations, connecting with other creatives, eating good food, going on hikes, and enjoying beautiful sunsets. You will leave with an armload of artwork and feel refreshed and inspired.
This retreat will combine inspiration, creativity, art lessons, nature, beauty, and, of course, lots of laughter and play. All levels are welcome!
