Creating an Inspiration Board.

Before I begin a new course or a series of paintings, I have to collect my thoughts. I spend a lot of time gathering various images, items from nature, poems, music, old journal entries, sketches, texture, and color.

This process seems to move me in the direction I need to go. Right now, Magnolias, stories, a road trip, and sweet memories are on my mind. The beginning of something new!

My guest artist today is Tiff Goff-Smith from Southern-Gals. Even though Tiff and I have never met in person, I feel like I’ve known her for ages. She is kind, hysterical, and a gifted artist. Tiff created a beautiful art journaling class for Jeanne Oliver called Soul Food last year. She has created over 300 free art videos on YouTube. And just launched her first portrait classes this June. Her colorful and messy style of art-making is inspiring and beautiful!

I want to welcome my friend and fellow artist, Barb Nicholson. I met Barb last Summer at Jeanne Oliver's Creatively Made Business Workshop. Over the weekend, I got to know Barb, and we found out that we were practically neighbors - we both live in Michigan. She is an incredibly kind and compassionate soul, which you can see in her beautiful art. Artwork that is filled with glorious colors, sensitive portraits, gentle animals, and stunning abstracts.
