Book of Flowers
Live Zoom Art Class
Whenever I create a class, I always ask myself why?
In the case of my new art class, Book of Flowers, I wanted to share some of my favorite techniques that may inspire you to find new things in your art-making. But the real reason is more than that! I love creating with people. I love that beautiful creative energy that floats through the air, the positivity, the support we give to one another, and the beauty that flows from our hearts into our art.
So, my friends, I have thought a lot about how I can create an online live art class like I would create an in-person workshop. And I came up with a few ideas.
For starters, I have a little "Welcome Gift" waiting for you once you register. I've scanned some of my favorite vintage papers for you to print on your home printer and use in class or other artwork. They've been collected over the years from vintage shops and flea markets, and a few are from a trip I made to Paris years ago.
The class needs to be fun! When we're having fun, we tap into that place where the current of creativity can work its magic and ignite your imagination! I want you to walk away with pages filled with ideas and art that feel like you!
And I love a good workbook! One with reference images, printables, and a place to take notes throughout the class — which you will find in the classroom, along with a list of suggested art supplies.
That is what I have created for you! I've never been so excited about a class (okay, I know I say that about every class), but this one will be special; we can connect, laugh, chat, and make art.
What will we be making? We will transform an ordinary sketchbook into a rich tapestry of ideas filled with contour drawings, botanical sketches, color studies, painted flowers, stitched collages, pressed flowers, and a mix of papers you have on hand.
Who is this class for? Everyone! If you're just getting started, or you've been making art for ages, I would love it if you would join us! There are more details on the registration page.
